Can VMESXi5 be virtual machine?

Hi, All

I have two physical ESXi hosts with ESXi5.0 installed. However, our physical servers just have one physical NIC card.

Because we want to test some functions such as vMotion, HA, we tried to intall two ESXi5.0 on our physical ESXi hosts

as virtual machine. So we can have multiple virtual NICs on our virtual ESXi hosts, After that, we added two shared

datastore to these virtual ESXi hosts. Finally, we succeed to configure vSphere HA by using these two virtual ESXi host

without configuration problems.

We tried to create virtual machines on one virtual ESXi host and poweron the virtual machine but It failed with the attached

picture of 1.JPG which told us that CPU does not support the poweron. I know that it is due to the reason of creating virtual machine on virtual

ESXi host and choose 64bit OS for the virtual machine. I have the first question as follows.

Q1. I wonder if it is possbile to poweron 64bit virtual machine which is created on virtual ESXi host?

(※I can poweron 32 bit virtual machine os which is created on virtual ESXi host.)

Sencondly, we tried to test vSphere HA by manually stopping one virtual ESXi host, but we found that the virtual machine on it

will not failover to another virtual ESXi host, So I have the second question as follows.

Q2. Is it must to poweron virtual machine on virtual ESXi host before doing vSphere HA test?  We think vSphere HA is the function

to monitor the status of virtual machine and vSphere will restart all virtual machines on failed virtual ESXi host?
