kavg data on esxtop too high

hi,

i'm doing a perfomance test to my application running on virutal servers with oracle database.

i'm trying to see what is the storage overhead that is made due to the fact i'm running of a virtual server.

i thought that checking the kernel average memory would be a good paramter to see that.

when i'm running esxtop i'm getting huge numbers on the kavg/cmd paramter, even when i run it for an hour, its not peaks.

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.

i got 2 questions that i would be happy if some one could help me with:

1. Is it possible that the data that i see on esxtop is not ture? the numbers are too high ( my appliction seems to work fine)

2. Is it a good way to measure the overhead made by the vmkernel? (in terms of storage)
